🌸 Announcing Our First Scholarship: Rooted in Excellence

At Rooted in Royalty, we believe in more than just beautiful hair—we believe in empowering Black women to embrace their full potential, pursue their passions, and shape the future. That’s why we are extremely proud to officially announce the launch of our very first scholarship initiative: Rooted in Excellence.

This annual scholarship is a celebration of brilliance, ambition, and legacy—and it's designed specifically for Black women attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

🎓 The Purpose Behind Rooted in Excellence

From our very beginning, Rooted in Royalty has been about more than beauty—it's been about uplifting the next generation of queens. This scholarship represents our promise to pour back into the community that has always inspired us. We’re planting seeds today that we know will blossom into tomorrow’s leaders, creators, and changemakers.

The Rooted in Excellence scholarship will provide financial assistance to deserving Black women enrolled at HBCUs who demonstrate a commitment to education, empowerment, and personal growth.

📍 First 5 Eligible Schools

We’re proud to announce the first five HBCUs whose Black female students will be eligible to apply:

  • Spelman College (Atlanta, GA)

  • Howard University (Washington, DC)

  • Alabama State University (Montgomery, AL)

  • Jackson State University (Jackson, MS)

  • Morgan State University (Baltimore, MD)

In the coming days, we’ll announce five more eligible schools, bringing the total to ten for the first year of the program.

đź“… Scholarship Timeline

Applications for the Rooted in Excellence scholarship will open soon, and the first award will be announced and granted on Juneteenth each year—an intentional choice to honor freedom, progress, and Black excellence.

📝 How to Apply

Eligible students will be asked to submit a short essay in response to the following question:

"How do you intend to use your education to empower yourself and other women in alignment with Rooted in Royalty’s mission?"

This is not about perfection—it’s about passion. We want to hear your voice, your dreams, and your vision for your impact.

🤝 Managed by Bold.org

To ensure transparency, impact, and ease for applicants, our scholarship will be managed by Bold.org, a trusted nonprofit platform dedicated to removing financial barriers to education. Bold.org has helped students across the country access life-changing opportunities through privately funded scholarships, and we’re proud to partner with them on this journey.

đź’– Join Us in Giving Back

If you’d like to contribute to next year’s scholarship fund or support the cause in other ways, details will be available soon on our website.

At Rooted in Royalty, we know that our strength is rooted in each other. This scholarship is just the beginning of a legacy of giving, growing, and standing beside our sisters in excellence.

Stay tuned for more details—and help us spread the word! 🌱👑
